Why does my PC crash when loading games on Steam?
My games crash about 10 mins into playing. Sometimes it causes a forced restart. Sounds like to simple of a question to ask here but I have literally done everything to fix issue with no luck.
I have 11th gen Intel core i7-11700f cpu, Radeon RX 7800 xt, 32GB ram. Windows 11. I have done the following to fix this with no avail.
- Updated drivers.
- Cleaned drivers with Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU). Update again.
- Tried older drivers.
- Uninstall games/reinstall.
- Verified game files.
- Launch games in admin mode.
- Swapped RAM sticks.
- Swapped GPU.
- Clear shader cache.
- Uninstall/reinstall Steam.
- Uninstall/reinstall Windows.
And probably something I don’t remember doing as well. Update: I’m getting metadata staging failed errors and amdxc64.dll errors.

- Use Nirsoft crash dump viewer and see if the faulting memory location is consistent, or the faulting driver/application show you the cause.

If system hangs or goes mono-color but hasn't gone to Blue Screen of Death, you may try using the Reset Windows Video Graphics Display Driver hotkey. Win + Ctrl + Shift + B
