Which monochrome laser printers are compatible with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS? [duplicate...

I am a newbie to Linux. Trying to find a compatible monochrome laser printer for Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. Have been on the following websites and have chatted with their reps:

• Lexmark
• Xerox
• HP
• Brother
• Kyocera

With the exception of Kyocera (didn't chat), all reps either told me none of their monochrome laser printers would work on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS or didn't answer any of my questions (only interested in meeting their sales quota).

I am perplexed at this point. It just doesn't make sense that the major printer manufacturers either don't train their sales force well or don't keep up with new distros.

What am I doing wrong?

I haven't got a comprehensive list, but have an old HP LaserJet 1320n which have successfully used with Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS. That is a monochrome laser printer which also supports duplex (2 sided) printing.

While that HP LaserJet has Ethernet and USB connections, have only used with a USB connection.

I don't remember having to install any specific drivers, when the printer was originally connected on an older Ubuntu (18.04 LTS?) installation; just connected the printer USB port to the computer and it was detected.
