Ubuntu 26.04 on Surface 7 pro

Ubuntu 26.04 on Surface 7 pro

I have installed the newest Ubuntu 26.04 LTF. I have activated my PRO version. And I have followed the Surface 7 Pro instructions on Zorins forum (They were the newest I could find, and have worked for me on other Ubuntu based instalations until now.)

You can see the setup here: https://help.zorin.com/docs/getting-started/set-up-microsoft-surface-device/

But when I follow those instuctions, and reboot my computer, I just get a text based login screen. And I can't get to the Ubuntu GUI from there.

What do I do wrong.

Would it be possible, that the Ubuntu install, checks for a Surface computer, and automatically sets up the kernal on install?

You may want to try the Ultramarine distro. It come prepacked with surface drivers. I installed it on an old 7 pro, and it just worked.
